"Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see"

Benjamin Franklin

My interpretation of the above quote, by Benjamin Franklin, is research the information I receive. I whole heartedly agree with this quote. There are many people in this world and plenty beliefs plus practices which do not apply to me. Also, I have different perspectives and feelings about life and the things in it. I feel in order to gain knowledge in life I must have the ability to process information and verify if it's correct or not.

Based on the articles "A False Wikipedia," Snared in the Web of a Wikipedia Liar," "Online encyclopedia tightens rules," "Is an Online Encyclopedia, Such as Wikipedia, Immune From Libel Suits?" "Wikipedia author: False entry was joke," and "Wikipedia controversy", I have discovered that things can be posted on wikipeida by any random author and the information may not be true. Not only may the information not be true but also it's very hard trace the or sue the author because "federal privacy laws shield the identity of Internet customers even if they disseminate defamatory material, as stated in the article "Snared in the Web of a Wikipedia Liar". In 1996, Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, specifically states that "no provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker." as stated in the article "A false Wikipedia 'biography." Based on the article "Online encyclopedia tightens rules" wikipedia has tighten it's rule. This was shortly after John Seigenthaler had complained. Before, user were able to just create articles with no security. Now new authors are required register before they can create articles. The flaw is people who modify existing articles will still be able to do so without registering.

In the video clip "revenge", Eddy the truck driver had came across his girlfriend with another guy. By the looks of it Eddy took it Eddy thought his girlfriend was cheating on him. the first thing he saw was the guy giving her flowers, hug and kiss on the cheek. Eddy decided to get revenge on the guy he suspected his wife was cheating on him for by filling the car outside with cement. Eddy then looked back inside the window and seen a camera man and his wife holding a huge check with a small picture of the same exact car eddy just filled with cement. Once his girlfriend mad eye contact with eddy looking threw the window, eddy then realized the mistake he made. This relates to the quote above. If eddy would of believed half of what he seen then he wouldn't have jumped to conclusions and would have not ruined his girlfriend prize car.

In the aticle Such as Wikipedia,, Internet encyclopaedias go head to head with the original hand writen encyclopaedias. when having the original encyclopaedia once it's published it's publeshed and a mistake will always be there. With the internet and wikipeida you can always go back and correct your mistakes or another publish will do it for you.
